Vladimir Andreenkov* 1930
Vladimir Andreenkov is a Russian painter, sculptor, graphic artist. One of the pioneers of geometric abstraction in Russia. In the 1970s, he began to make things close to minimalism. In 1958 he graduated from the Surikov Institute, since 1962 a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR, since 1968 – in the staff of the Combine of Graphic Arts of the Moscow Union of Artists. Since 1970 he has exhibited abroad, mainly in Switzerland. In 2001 and 2015, retrospective exhibitions of the artist were presented in the exhibition hall of the Union of Artists on Kuznetsky Most. Andreenkov’s works are in the collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, museums in Tula, Belgorod, Orel, Kemerovo, Vladivostok, Mogilev, Padua.
