Yngve Ekström

1913 — 1988

The Swedish designer, wood carver, sculptor and architects, Yngve Ekström founded Swedese furniture factory and designed pieces for it for 40 years. He was born in Småland  – a town in the south of Sweden, where the country’s largest furniture factory was located. Alongside Alvar Aalto, Bruno Mathsson, Arne Jacobsen and Poul Kjaerholm, Yngve Ekström was a pioneer of Scandinavian modernism.
