The Danish designer, Kai Kristiansen belongs to the Danish Modern movement. He graduated from the The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and was an apprentice of Kaare Klint, a pioneer of Danish Modernism. He collaborated with various furniture factories: Schou Andersen Møbelfabrik, Feldballes, Magnus Olesen, Fritz Hansen, Axel Kjærsgaard and Heltborg. In 1955 Kristiansen opened his own furniture workshop.
