Simone Bellet

Simone Bellet was a French artist, was engaged in painting and engraving. The daughter of artist Georges-Emile Bellet, wife of American critic Roy McMullen. She studied at the André Lhote Academy in 1948-1951, then with Fernand Leger in 1953. By 1955, she gradually came to abstraction. She was exhibited at the Independent Salon in 1950 – 1967, at the May Salon in 1958, at the Vichy International Biennale in 1964, 1965 and 1966. Her first participation in this biennale was awarded the Honorary Prize.
