The MAXART Foundation for the Support and Development of Contemporary Art, together with the Third Place cultural space in St. Petersburg, opens the site-specific exhibition “Monsters under the Bed”.
The triptych by Evgeny Muzalevsky is presented among other works by young contemporary artists of different generations working with various genres and media.
The exhibition explores the transformation of childhood fears into a state of anxiety through personal experience. In the conditions of emotional turbulence provoked by external circumstances, anxiety becomes more and more tangible, taking root in the routine of everyday life. Environmental, social and cultural principles in the conditions of modernity have repeatedly demonstrated their vulnerability. What is fear for us today and what tools to overcome it seem to be the most appropriate and productive?
